Unzipped Identity is a provocative contemporary sculpture that addresses themes of self-revelation, masks, and public persona. The artwork features a hybrid face mask that appears to split open, revealing a second, hidden face contour inside. The artist used dual-mold casting and hand-carving techniques to create the overlapping layers and precise, split seams. The concept challenges viewers to consider the difference between the identity we present to the world and the private self we keep hidden. The rich terracotta finish is treated with subtle washes to enhance the depth of the facial contours and emphasize the sculptural splitting.
