The Secret Kingdom
About this Work
The Inner Citadel is an architectural terracotta sculpture exploring personal boundaries, security, and psychological sanctuary. The piece is structured as a miniature fortress or tower with narrow slits, battlements, and hollow chambers. Shweta Jain Maheshwari hand-assembled the clay plates, carving geometric details and windows to reveal the quiet spaces inside. The concept represents the mind as a citadel—a private, fortified space where thoughts are protected from the chaos of the outside world. The raw clay finish highlights the structural lines and hand-built joints, highlighting the architectural craftsmanship.
