About this Work
Candle is a terracotta clay study exploring spiritual light, silence, and transient presence. Structured as a hollow, architectural column with vertical openings, the sculpture is designed to hold light within, casting long, dramatic shadows that shift with the environment. Shweta's process involved hand-pressing clay slabs, leaving raw finger textures and subtle imperfections that celebrate the material's rustic origins. The concept revolves around inner illumination and the idea that true light is quiet, steady, and contained. As shadow and ambient light interact with the hollow form, Candle becomes an interactive installation on a miniature scale, ideal for intimate gallery spaces.
