The Eternal Guardian
About this Work
The Eternal Guardian is a hand-built clay mask representing heritage, spiritual protection, and visual legacy. Inspired by ancient Indian temple guardians, the piece features deep mask lines, carved crown details, and a serene facial expression. Shweta built the mask using traditional hand-pressing and clay applique techniques, ensuring every detail reflects ancient carving traditions. The guardian represents the preservation of culture, values, and memory across generations. The natural slip glazes applied before firing give the piece a soft, weathered patina, making it feel like an archaeological treasure recovered from the earth.
