Reflections in Glass
About this Work
Drawing IV is a large-scale, highly dramatic charcoal drawing exploring shadow, texture, and abstract human contours. Shweta Jain Maheshwari applied dense layers of compressed charcoal and then carved out light using specialty erasers, creating a high-contrast visual surface. The concept addresses the theme of identity emerging from darkness—our hidden thoughts, feelings, and the layers of self that reveal themselves only in quiet reflection. The artwork's size and dense, velvet-black values give it a bold, monumental presence, making it a striking centerpiece for contemporary visual art collections.
